04-10-00 HARRIS CORPORATION AND CONTINENTAL ELECTRONICS FORM GLOBAL STRATEGIC ALLIANCE FOR HIGH-POWER AM RADIO PROJECTS
CINCINNATI, OHIO and DALLAS, TEXAS - (April 10, 2000) - Harris Corporation and Continental Electronics Corporation (CEC) today announced a strategic alliance to provide complete high-power AM radio broadcast transmission systems-including short wave, medium wave and long wave transmission equipment, engineering services and turnkey installations--to broadcasters worldwide.

A Memorandum of Understanding signed between Harris' Broadcast Communications Division in Cincinnati and CEC's High-Power Division in Dallas positions the companies to serve jointly as the primary supplier for large international and government projects that require a broad range of high-power broadcast transmission equipment and services. The arrangement covers Harris' DX Series of 100-2,000kW digital solid-state medium wave and long wave transmitters; CEC's 250 and 500kW short wave transmitters, and complete turnkey installations for large projects that encompass civil work, antennas, transmitters and program management.

"By combining the high-power turnkey expertise and the industry-standard high-power transmission technology of AM broadcasting's foremost engineering and systems suppliers, this alliance creates the perfect source for high-power broadcast operations spanning the globe," said Jim Woods, Harris Broadcast Communications' vice president of radio systems.

"This alliance brings together the best experience and the most advanced technology available to the broadcast industry," said Adil Mina, CEC vice president of marketing. "Broadcasters will have access to the technologies they need to implement their communications applications."
