|
| Consolidation Will Position CEC to Compete More Effectively in the Broadcasting Industry
DALLAS, TX - (November 11, 1999) - Continental Electronics Corporation. (CEC), a subsidiary of Tech-Sym Corporation (NYSE: TSY), today announced that its German subsidiary TELEFUNKEN Sendertechnik will be consolidated into CEC's operations in Dallas, Texas. CEC is an established international supplier of transmitter systems for the AM/FM, digital television and high power broadcast industries. The move will further strengthen CEC's global position by consolidating key functions in a central location.
"This action is consistent with Tech-Sym's announced plan to seek a merger partner for CEC," said David Burkey, president. "The consolidation of key technical and manufacturing functions to higher-volume, lower-cost facilities strengthens our global market position. CEC will emerge with greater cost effectiveness and enhanced sales and marketing channels to complement our existing technology leadership."
Mr. Burkey concluded, "We plan to make the consolidation completely transparent to the TELEFUNKEN customer base. As we execute the plan, CEC will maintain and enhance its sales and marketing channel throughout Europe."
